The concert opens with a set by Ontario-born composer Robert Nathaniel Dett. Lee Scott, Rosephanye Powell, Moses Hogan and Greg Jasperse are sung in the second half. Pianist, Lisa Iwasaki guests on solo piano presenting movements from Dett's Magnolia as well as Hailstork's Trio Sonata.
